Corporate Values
Most corporations are completely self-interested, solely existing to maximize profits. As such they are unable to be concerned with the interests of the society of which they are a part. Indeed, a business that fails to maximize profits places itself at a competitive disadvantage relative to businesses that do maximize profits. Likewise, many argue that people make moral judgments and corporations do not. |

Milton Friedman (and Adam Smith, for that matter) aside, Fellini Arts believes that corporate accountability includes a review of the values of the organization and how they are expressed. From our point of view, the whole product is not just what is physically delivered, but also the breadth of actions of the corporation. We believe that customer’s should judge the businesses they buy from with the same standards used for any other member of their community. Design Values: Sustainable ApproachIn our product design, we have concerned ourselves with how we produce responsibly. Woods used are from regions with sustainable forestry awareness. Amethyst has been obtained from family owned mines in Brazil. And many parts have been procured supporting local and small businesses supporting sustainable business practices rather than cheaper offshore giants. Clearly, this is a for profit business. The artist must be paid in order to continue to do his work. And decisions have been made to utilize available economies of scale in mass production (such with our electronics) in order to control cost. However, Fellini Arts is not *ONLY* a for profit business. Particularly, when almost half the world's population is extremely poor, subsisting on less than $2 a day, it is hypocritical to encourage the raising of human awareness and the purchase of decorative gift products without a real expression of the values in that awareness. Giving Back: Corporate GivingOne step we are taking is through corporate giving. It is our objective to donate 10% of the purchase price of each Fellini Arts ThoughtBox TM to non profit charitable organizations. We are seeking to contribute to organizations that are committed to a range of efforts including: humanitarian aid and relief, economic development, education, sustainable living, and environmental protection. We are a young company, yet we have already begun to make contributiions from your purchases. To date we have given to the following organizations:
Please review where your business is giving back and consider making your own contributions to any organizations you encounter that sparks your interest. Also, feel free to suggest worthy efforts that we might want to support. info@felliniarts.com
